Meet the Cast in order of appearance

 
Sheree - Lynnie McClure

Lynnie McClure (Sheree Hollinger) is a native of California and enjoyed her first acting experience playing the part of Elaine Harper in Arsenic and Old Lace for her high school Senior Play.  Subsequently she was active in various community theatre productions such as The Odd Couple (Gwendolyn Pigeon), Bus Stop (Cherie), both in her home state, and in Frankfort, Kentucky's Bluegrass Theatre Guild's production of Tribute playing the role of Maggie Stratton.  This is her first time back on stage in five years and her first role in the Birmingham area. Lynnie is a retired flight attendant and lives in Pleasant Grove.  She has one college age son and three boisterous dogs.   She is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of this production for the Fultondale Arts

Lexie - Gabrielle Metz

Gabrielle is excited to bring community theatre to a new space and community, and thrilled to be back working with Clay after enjoying 8 previous productions with the Park Players! Favorite experiences playing outdoors with the Bard's work include Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet," Hippolyta and Titania in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and Olivia in"Twelfth Night." Most recently you may have seen Gabrielle as Florence Unger in "The Odd Couple:Female Version" at ACTA, and as both a man and a woman in the innagural performance of LOKA Theatre's "School for Wives." Other favorite roles include Mollie Ralston in "The Mousetrap", Venticello in "Amadeus", a tribe member in "HAIR", Susan Johnston in "The Heidi Chronicles", Candy Star in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", Pheni Rosensweig in "The Sisters Rosensweig", the
mother in "A Christmas Story." Look for Gabrielle in May in "Cyrano" with the Park Players in Homewood Park, and this summer as she reprises a role for the 1st time in Tom Wofford's wonderful original play "Judge Roy Moore is Coming to Dinner!" Gabrielle sends peace, love, & happiness to all!


 

Dinah - Dianne Daniels

Dianne is active in the Birmingham area theatre scene as an actor and director, and is thankful and excited to be part of this production. Favorite roles include Sissy in Come Back to the 5 and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean,  Mrs Shinn in The Music Man, the Widow Corney in Oliver!, Adriana in Comedy of Errors, Truvy in Steel Magnolias, Rhonda in Christmas Belles, Eppie Lederer in The Lady with All the Answers, and Dr Martha Livingstone in Agnes of God. Dianne is blessed with her own crew of dear friends, and while they have not known each other as long as the ladies of the Swim Club, they are every bit as dear... thank you for being my chosen family. Thanks to Clay for the opportunity, to Steven for the support, and to the Swim Club...y'all rock.  Dianne serves on the Board of Directors for South City Theatre in Alabaster, Alabama and is employed by the Mega Agent Real Estate Team of Birmingham.

 


Vernadette - Becky Thomas Johnson
Becky Johnson is so happy to be playing the part of Vernadette in the Dixie Swim Club. After taking an 8 year hiatus to grow her family, she is ready to get back onstage. Some of her favorite past roles include Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Ernestina in Hello Dolly! and Lucy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She would like to thank Clay Boyce for casting her in such a great role, her husband (Robby) and children (Christian, Zylayah, Malik, and Kayden) for their love and support and God for all His many blessings.

 

 



 


Jeri Neal - Amy Light
Amy is excited to be a part of Fultondale Art's Council first theatrical performance of "Dixie Swim Club". Amy lives for the stage!! The last show she was a proud participant of was "The Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940s" as 'Marjorie' at the Leeds Arts Council. Other past performances include 'Lenny' in "Crimes of the Heart" at South City Theatre, 'Mrs. Rogers' in "Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians" also at South City Theatre; 'Claire' in "Fuddy Meers" at B'ham Festival Theatre, and 'Queen' in "Jack and the Beanstalk" at B'ham Children's Theatre...just to name a few!! She took a long break from the stage right after her honeymoon...and has been trying to make up for lost time ever since!! She and her husband, David, just celebrated their Fifth Wedding Anniversary...and he is just as proud to see her up on that stage as she is of being there!! Amy would like to thank Mr. Clay Boyce for casting her in this hilarious and poignant show. Thank you all for coming and supporting the Arts!! God Bless.

 

 


Director - A. Clay Boyce  
Clay is the Managing Artistic Director and founder of Park Players. He is thrilled to be directing the first show for the Fultondale Arts Council.  He hopes that the surrounding communities find the same love for theatre that he has held in his heart for 33 years.  He will be seen on stage in May in Park Players production of "Cyrano De Bergerac".  In August he will be directing "Second Samuel" for Park Players at their new indoor home in the Avondale community. Some of his favorite roles have been George in "Of Mice and Men", the Beast in "Disney's Beauty and the Beast", the title role in "Hamlet" and Victoria's dad. He would like to thank his wife, Vicki, his daughter, Victoria and all his close friends (you know who you are!) for all the love and support they have given him through the years! He would also like to thank this incredibly talented cast and crew for all their time and effort!  I couldn't have done this without you!


 

Set Designer - Shawn Reese  
Shawn is a stage veteran of both Birmingham and New York, having appeared in numerous plays and musicals in nearly two decades of performing. He designed the set for South City’s production last season of The Trip to Bountiful, and has also designed numerous other sets for shows such as To Kill a Mockingbird, West Side Story, and Little Shop of Horrors among others.  Onstage, he was most recently seen in Virginia Samford Theatre’s production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. While in New York, he was on the board of Break-A-Leg Productions and The Gallery Players, one of the city’s premier Off-Off Broadway production companies. Notable roles include: Will Rogers (Will Rogers Follies), Tony (West Side Story), Joseph (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Hines (The Pajama Game), Benjy (My Favorite Year), William Roper (A Man for All Seasons), Phileas Fogg (Around the World in 80 Days), James (That Championship Season), Pablo Picasso (Picasso at the Lapine Agile), Will Parker (Oklahoma), and James Wilson (1776). Awards include the 2006 Irving Stern Award for Performer of the Year (LJCC).


Stage Manager - Kelsea L Pennington

Kelsea Pennington is more than happy to be a part of this production of the Dixie Swim Club. It's been almost two years since she has been involved in a show and that's just too long! In the past, she has mainly acted. Some of her roles include: Ken Howard in Rumors, Meg March in Little Women, Mae Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie, Judge Thatcher in Tom Sawyer, and Belle in Beauty and the Beast. In her senior year of high school, she directed Pinocchio. The summer after her high school graduation, she assumed the position of technical director, taking on tasks including sound and lighting design. Kelsea would like to send a big thank you to Clay Boyce, and the entire cast and crew of the Dixie Swim Club for allowing her to be a part of this outstanding production! She would also like to thank her family for always supporting her no matter what.
