Meet the Cast:
Mark W. Transom - A. Clay Boyce
Clay is the artistic director and founder of Park Players. His last project was directing "Over the River and Through the Woods" for Birmingham Festival Theatre. Some of his favorite roles have been George in "Of Mice and Men", Fagin in "Oliver!" and the title role in "Hamlet". He would like to thank his wife, Vicki and his daughter, Victoria for all the love and support they have given him through the years! He would also like to thank Lyndsay for giving him a shot at this role!
Jo Harber - Kim Rollins Dometrovich
Kim is happy to be making her debut with Park Players! She has been seen in many local theatre productions, most recently as Alice in My Favorite Year at the LJCC. Some of her favorite roles include Eliza in My Fair Lady, Nellie in South Pacific, and Mary Ann in Gilligan's Island: the Musical, all with CenterStage, as well as Reno in Anything Goes at Leeds. Kim is also a freelance costumer, and has worked with several theatre groups around town, most recently designing Kiss Me Kate for CenterStage. All my love to R.D. for his constant support! Thanks to Lyndsay and Clay for this opportunity!
Ivy Schreiver - Jody Rivera
Jody has anxiously awaited her return to the stage and is very proud to accomplish that goal with the Park Players. She has also performed with Torrential Downplay and has been awarded an Irene Ryan Nomination for her performance as the robot Sulla in the UAB production of R. U. R. In addition, she was Set Decorator for, Johnny Flynton, the 2003 Academy Award Nominated Best Short Action Film . She has also used her bi-lingual skills in Spanish to promote AmSouth Bank and has appeared in various independent film projects. Jody intends to grow as an actress within the local community and eventually relocate to Los Angeles to complete her training at The Lee Strasburg Academy where she will pursue her professional career in the Motion Picture Industry. Most importantly, she would like to thank Lyndsay for this awesome opportunity, everyone involved with this production and her mother EJ for believing in her and supporting her dream. Olive juice!
Russell Croft - Tony Sanders
Tony is a former Graduate from Homewood High School. When not being a Sales Rep in the day Tony is doing some kind of the Community Theater! This is Tony’s first show with Birmingham Park Players. You might have seen him with South City Theater or Birmingham Festival Theater. Other Roles Include: Ah, Wilderness (Richard), Tom Jones (Bliffil), Romeo And Juliet (Mercutio), Inspector Calls (Eric) , Inheirt the Wind (Bertram Cates). Tony is very excited to be back on stage and working with a great group of people. Thank you and enjoy the Show!
Geoffrey Regeant - Jay Smith
Jay teaches alternative school in Shelby County and has just recently returned to acting after a 25 year hiatus. He graduated from Samford University with a theatre major in 1973 and he is enjoying rediscovering his passion for theatre. He has been seen most recently at South City Theatre as Brady in Inherit the Wind and as Mr. Witherspoon in Arsenic and Old Lace. This marks Jay’s first performance for Park Players.
Lloyd - Jeffrey Marrs
Jeffery is happy to be returning to the Park Players stage, having appeared in Merry Wives of Windsor (2003) and The Tempest (2005). You may also have seen him in productions with LJCC, BFT, or the Little Theatre Players. When not acting Jeffery is busy directing. Thanks to Lyndsay and Jason!
The Director - Lyndsay Antos
Lyndsay is back with Park Players for a third year in a row to direct "That Darn Plot" after her directorial debut with us in 2004 with "Othello" she returned in 2005 to direct "The Tempest". "That Darn Plot" will be her third production as director. Previously, she has stage-managed and acted in "The Diary of Anne Frank" at ACTA Theatre in Trussville, Al and she appeared in "The Merry Wives of Windsor" with Park Players in our 2003 season. Lyndsay attended Concordia University in Chicago, IL where she played Amanda in "The Glass Menagerie", the Princess in "Rumplestiltskin" and designed costumes for "The Music Man". She would like to thank Clay Boyce for giving her this wonderful opportunity, and to her family for all their support.
Stage Manager Mike Oakes is one of the founding members of Park Players. Unlike the rest of his fellow board members he has no desire to be on stage and act. Although he can be persuaded to act like a Klingon now and again. He is much happier being behind the set in his role as the 'strong back - weak mind' of the group. He has Staged Managed for Garden Variety Shakespeare in "King Lear" and "Hamlet". For Park Players in "Romeo and Juliet", "The Merry Wives of Windsor" "Othello" and "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" and the recent production of "Over The River and Through The Woods" at Birmingham Festival Theatre. When not being the roadie for Park Players he works at UAB as a network administrator.
